This page answers the most common questions about groups bookings at Riverbend. Please do not book your own group reservations online. For small groups not planning any meetings or events on our property, you may book via phone after reading policies below. For a group looking to have an event or meeting here, a Whole House Booking is required and you can get a quote by using the form below.
We consider a group to be 8 or more people or 4 or more rooms/rv sites. If you exceed 7 people or 2 rooms (whether you book all together or individually) you are a group.
Riverbend is very small and is primarily a couple’s retreat, geared toward people who are looking for a quiet, relaxing, zen-like atmosphere. Groups often don’t get together to relax quietly with each other, but rather to celebrate something, or to visit, laugh, and (often times) drink.
To preserve our peaceful atmosphere, we have policies that restrict alcohol use and limit noise (All common areas are quiet zones, springs areas are whisper zones, and the entire property is in Silent Hour from 10pm-8am); often these policies can interfere with groups looking to socialize and have fun and it is nearly impossible to whisper when more than one conversation ensues. Please carefully consider whether the goal of your gathering is a good fit with our atmosphere; we want all of our guests to be happy, not only members of your party, but those in the neighboring rooms and those soaking with you in the common springs, who are seeking quiet relaxation.
A “Whole House Booking” is your only option if you wish to have any kind of event or meeting here or if you think your group wouldn’t be able to abide by all of our quiet policies. See below for details about a Whole House Booking.
Riverbend Hot Springs offers the only all outdoor hot springs pools in Truth or Consequences and the only riverside pools in town. All of our pools are on the banks of the Rio Grande. We have 7 small (approx 6-8 ft diameter) pools plus one larger pool in our Common pool area and 7 similarly small sized private pools (walled on 3 sides and open to the river view). The temperatures range from 95 to 108 in the public pools and from 101-108 in the private pools. All of our overnight guests get unlimited use of the Common pools from 8AM-10PM each day of their stay and until 10AM on the day of checkout. If your group requires use of the springs or grounds after checkout, that could be arranged and is quoted on a case by case basis. Private pool rentals are an additional charge, but could be bundled as part of the Whole House Booking; see below. When planning your group booking at Riverbend, keep in mind that we normally close and clean our pools and patio on Thursdays from 10AM-3PM. This process is semi-noisy and not easily reschedule-able so keep that in mind.
Group reservations (4 or more rooms or 8 or more people, whether booked together or individually) require a 100% deposit of the total cost of the stay.
Cancellations made at least 30 days before arrival can be refunded the deposit, minus a 10% cancellation/processing fee. Cancellations or changes to a reservation with less than 30 days notice are not possible and the deposit is no longer refundable. Group reservations made less than 30 days away are immediately locked in and non-refundable. No exceptions!
We are the “outdoor place” and have the only all-outdoor springs in Truth or Consequences. We also only have outdoor common spaces that can also be used as meeting spaces. One is our riverside patio that is about 20′ x 60′ and has mostly chaise lounge chairs. Regular chairs (up to 20 total) are available nearby and can be used if you have a whole house booking. We have used the patio several times for yoga retreats and it worked out great. Because we use this patio as a lounging area for our lodging and hourly soaking guests, you would need to book it with us (whole house booking) ahead of time to make sure that it is available exclusively for your event/group. We also have a river pier/deck that does not hold much more than 6-8 people but is perfect for intimate wedding vows. Our courtyard has a small covered eating area meant for about 10 people, plus an outdoor kitchen.
We don’t have any indoor conference rooms, catering, projection screens or other common conference items. Most of our guests are couples looking to relax and the demand for group meetings here is so low, that we don’t plan on adding any of those amenities. However, we have been able to accommodate yoga retreats, small weddings, and small family/friend reunions. Please let know if you have any other questions about meeting spaces at Riverbend.

If a group requires the use of any of our public spaces for a meeting or event or if your group can’t abide by all quiet policies, we require that you book the entire resort in a Whole House Booking. This includes our entire lodging inventory (rooms and RV sites) and exclusive access to our common grounds and common pools (exclusive use of the private pools is also possible). There is a two night minimum for the Whole House Booking. There are usually additional charges and a security deposit for having events here. The whole house booking is quoted on a case by case basis and very dependent on the date(s) of your booking/event. Please let us know the details of your plans and how many people you expect to have and whether any of them will not be staying the night here. Let us know if you will need to use any furniture or equipment, too. Any furniture or equipment needed beyond what we already have on site would be at your responsibility and your cost.

No special permission is needed to come if you are coming for quiet relaxation and not looking to have any meeting/event here. However, we are still a very small place and often turn away groups of any kind of substantial size. Since the Property Pass is first come first served until full, there is no way to reserve space for it. Your best bet if you are a quiet group is to rent multiple Private Pools to accommodate you. That way, you have a reservation dedicating space to your group. Please do not book your group’s Private Pools online. - Prepayment of the session base rate (1 or 2 people) is required and refunds are not available. However, you could reschedule your soak if you give us at least 24 hours* or more notice (for 3 or more pool/sessions, see below). No-shows or cancellations/reschedules with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit their payment for reserved session(s). There are no exceptions to this policy so do not book if your plans are not firm or you do not plan on honoring this reservation contract in the event you deem you will need to cancel.
- Discounts, Vouchers and Cash: If you plan on using any of these methods of payment, do not book online. Your credit card or gift card/certificate will be charged at this time and refunds are not available. Call us to book if you have a discount and come in person to book if paying with vouchers or cash.
- *For bookings of 3 or more pool/sessions: The cutoff date for rescheduling depends on how many Pool Sessions you book. Each 50 minute session in each pool is 1 Pool Session (ie: 1 pool for 2 {50 minute} sessions in a row= 2 Pool Sessions and 2 pools for 3 {50 minute} sessions in a row= 6 Pool Sessions). We require 24 hours notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 1 or 2 Pool Sessions. We require 7 days notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 3-5 Pool Sessions. We require 30 days notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 6 or more Pool Sessions. No-shows or cancellations/reschedules with less than the notice above will forfeit their payment for reserved session(s). There are no exceptions to this policy so do not book if your plans are not firm or you do not plan on honoring this reservation contract in the event you deem you will need to cancel.
