Riverbend is a quiet, zen-full retreat. Some areas of the property are designated Quiet Zones. Private pools and surrounding areas are Whisper Zones. Common pools do not have a whisper policy but we do ask guests to be respectful of other guests. Devices must be silenced. No music or phone calls allowed.
- Common and Private pools are open to rent by the hour/session from 8 AM – 10 PM, daily. During Daylight Savings, we stay open until 11 PM.
- Overnight guests get free access to the Common Pools from 8 AM – 10 PM. During Daylight Savings, guests can soak from 7 AM – 11 PM until 10 AM of their checkout day.
- Pools are closed within the hours of 10 AM – 4 PM for cleaning
(usually always Thursdays, but could be any other day) On Thanksgiving, we move cleaning day to the day before and if Christmas falls on a Thursday, we move it. - Soaking is only allowed during pool hours and when our staff is on duty.
All guests must shower before entering our all natural hot springs. Bodies must be free of soaps, oils, deodorants and lotions (including sun block and sun tan lotion). If booking a private soak, please come pre-showered or come at least 30 minutes earlier than your scheduled soak time to allow time for showering
- Due to our hazardous riverside location and our peaceful ambiance, Riverbend can accommodate guests age 12 and older only.
- We are currently making an exception for children at least 5 years old and up in two of our private pools (Cielo and Tierra) if and only IF they can whisper and not disturb neighboring guests. Those two pools are railed in for safety.
- There are no exceptions for the 12 and older policy for the Property Pass (Common Pools) or for any overnight accommodations.
- Property Pass (Common Pools): Dogs can accompany their owners who purchase a Property Pass at designated Canine Cabanas only and only IF they do not bark, whine, or disturb other guests. You must use our leash to prevent dogs from entering walkways or going beyond the Cabanas.
- Private Pools: We can allow dogs onto the deck of two private pools (Cielo and Tierra) only IF they do not bark, whine, or disturb other guests. This is heavily enforced due to the whisper policy at Private Pools
- Dogs are not allowed in or next to pools
- Two dog maximum per party
- Dogs must be leashed at all times while on our property and must be picked up after
- No dog food allowed near our pools
- Service Animals may be exempt from our location restrictions but will be fully vetted per the ADA guidelines to prevent fraud and preserve the integrity of the Service Animal program.
- Any dog (pet or Service Animal) may be excluded from being on our property if it is disruptive to other guests or is considered aggressive or dangerous to our staff or guests.
Clean bathing suits are required in the Common Pools. Private Pools are clothing optional. Bring a towel or robe or rent them from us. Bring slippers or purchase them from us. You may want to bring a hat, as we do not allow sunblock/lotion and it may be too windy for us to open the umbrellas. You can bring non alcoholic beverages in non breakable containers or we have several beverages for sale. Don’t bring food or alcohol as they are not allowed near pools.

- Reservations are taken and currently required for the Property Pass (Access to the Common Pools, Sauna and Grounds). Property Pass is not included with a Private Soak or vice versa.
- Reservation and Cancellation Policy
- Prepayment is required and refunds are not available. However, you could reschedule your soak if you give us at least 24 hours* or more notice (for 3 or more pool/sessions, see below). Cancellations with enough required notice can be refunded minus a 10% Cancellation/Processing Fee. No-shows or cancellations/reschedules with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit their payment for reserved session(s). There are no exceptions to this policy so do not book if your plans are not firm or you do not plan on honoring this reservation contract in the event you deem you will need to cancel.
- Discounts, Vouchers and Cash: Cash is no longer accepted until further notice. Vouchers are all expired no longer accepted until further notice. Your credit card or gift card/certificate will be charged at this time and refunds are not available.
- *For bookings of 3 or more pool/sessions: The cutoff date for rescheduling depends on how many Pool Sessions you book. Each 50 minute session in each pool is 1 Pool Session (ie: 1 pool for 2 {50 minute} sessions in a row= 2 Pool Sessions and 2 pools for 3 {50 minute} sessions in a row= 6 Pool Sessions). We require 24 hours notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 1 or 2 Pool Sessions. We require 7 days notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 3-5 Pool Sessions. We require 30 days notice to reschedule your appointment if you have 6 or more Pool Sessions. No-shows or cancellations/reschedules with less than the notice above will forfeit their payment for reserved session(s). There are no exceptions to this policy so do not book if your plans are not firm or you do not plan on honoring this reservation contract in the event you deem you will need to cancel.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your soak time. Please come from home or hotel pre-showered or come earlier to use our showers and do not reapply any lotions or oils including sun block/lotion. We rent towels and robes or you are welcome to bring your own. We sell beverages or you are welcome to bring your own. No glass, alcohol or food allowed. Private Pools and their enclosures are Whisper Zones. Children 12 and up are the same price as adults. Children under 12 and non-paying guests may not enter the Private Pool enclosures.
Riverbend is primarily geared towards couples looking for a quiet and romantic escape. Most groups are not appropriate for our environment and so please consider our policies and ambiance carefully before coming with a group. Our largest Private Pools are limited to 2 guests or less and our maximum capacity in our Common Pools often prevents us from allowing entry for groups. Please email us if you are interested in booking a large group which would require booking our full Private Pool inventory or booking the entire resort to use the Common Pools.
- Health and Safety
- No Alcohol, Smoking/Vaping, or Glass/Breakables allowed
- You must shower before entering the pools. Swim attire is required at Common Pools (Private Pools are clothing optional). No
street wear or underwear. - Overexposure to hot water may cause nausea, dizziness, and fainting. We recommend no more than 15 minutes in at a time, and then getting out for at least 5 minutes to cool off.
- Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
- Extended exposure to hot water may be detrimental to the health of
elderly persons, persons with health problems, such as heart conditions, diabetes, or low/high blood pressure, small children, or pregnant women. Consult with a physician before using springs. - Do not use the springs while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or other drugs that cause sleepiness, drowsiness, or raise/lower blood pressure.
- You may not soak unless you can enter the pools without the assistance of others.
- Soak in intervals no longer than 15 minutes, then get out to cool off for at least 5 minutes.
- No Lifeguard on duty
- Watch your step, surfaces are slippery when wet.
- You are advised to stay out of the river. Entry into the river may be locked depending on current, river levels and cleanliness but for all other times when we allow it, it is always at your own risk. You are required to shower before re-entering the Common Pools if you got in the river. No river access is allowed from the Private Pools
- Children must be supervised by parents at all times.
- We are not responsible for accidents.
- For emergencies, use the phone in the office to call 911.
- Private Pools are Whisper Zones and Common Pools (Property Pass) are more social but with reasonable volume levels of talking only.
- Devices- Please silence devices, no music unless with headphones at a lower volume, do not take pictures of other guests, do not use devices with screens in the Common Pools after dark, and please don’t take pictures with flash after dark.
- Use chairs, not pool edges to rest. Yield space for others.
- No nudity at Common Pools or sexual behavior in any pools.

- We use our hotel booking engine for soaks as well and you must choose a “check in” date (date you want to soak) and just make sure you only select 1 “night” or else you would book the same timeslot for multiple days . You are not actually booking a night here. You are booking a single session (1 hour or 50 minutes).
- Also, ignore the “arrival time” question if booking a soak. That is meant for overnight guests.
Riverbend is a quiet, zen-full retreat. All areas of the property are designated Quiet Zones. Private pool areas are Whisper Zones. Our closing hours (10 PM – 8 AM) are Silent Hours in all areas. These are our most unique and important policies and they are heavily enforced for your enjoyment.
Due to our hazardous riverside location and our whisper quiet ambiance, Riverbend can accommodate guests age 12 and older only.
Each room has a very strict maximum occupancy of two (2) people per bed. We do not have roll-away beds or extra bedding. Any party that shows up with more than that number of people will be turned away without a refund. Please carefully choose the correct number of guests and verify that it is correct on your confirmation email.
There are additional nightly charges for dogs (see Pets section below) and for additional guests in RV spaces (beyond 2 guests. 4 guests maximum). Be aware that the final charges may differ from your confirmation quote.
We are a small but busy Inn. We welcome your reservation when your plans are firm. Full prepayment is required at time of booking. Cancellations made at least a week before arrival can be refunded the deposit, minus a 10% cancellation/processing fee. Cancellations or changes to a reservation with less than 7 days notice are not possible and the deposit is no longer refundable. No exceptions! Reservations made less than 7 days away are immediately locked in and non-refundable. If you would like to use a credit on file, a Gift Certificate/Card or two different cards you should call us to make your reservation. Please realize that a reservation holds you a room within a certain room type, not any specific room. We reserve the right to change the room assignment as needed, to accommodate other guests and longer stays. There is a two night minimum on all hotel rooms. One night stays are possible if a one night vacancy is created by two other longer reservations or if you are booking less than a week away. There is no two night minimum for RV spaces.
- Cancellations (includes: changing dates, shortening of stay, early check out, or “no show”) must be made at least seven (7) days before your arrival date to receive a refund of your deposit, minus our cancellation/processing fee which is 10% of the deposit.
- Please understand that you must take full responsibility for your Entire Reservation for cancellations within 7 days of your arrival. No exceptions!
- Cancellations must be made by phone only. Cancellation requests sent via email may not be received and you will be responsible for the room(s) reserved. If you cancel and do not receive a cancellation email, please call us to verify that your room was cancelled and that our email address for you is correct.
- If you booked a Private Soak, it will not automatically be cancelled when you cancel your overnight, so please mention it too, when you call.
Groups often do not fit in with our quiet, relaxed ambiance and our house and pool policies. Therefore, group booking require special permission via email before booking. Group reservations (4 or more rooms or 8 or more people, whether booked
together or individually) require a 100% deposit of the total cost of the stay.
Cancellations made at least 30 days before arrival can be refunded the deposit,
minus a 10% cancellation/processing fee. Cancellations or changes to a reservation
with less than 30 days notice are not possible and the deposit is no longer
refundable. Group reservations made less than 30 days away are immediately
locked in and non-refundable. No exceptions!
Check-in for rooms and RV spaces is between 3:00-6:00 PM. Please call in advance to inquire about the possibility for a check-in later than these hours. Check-out is at 11:00 AM for rooms and RV spaces. Due to our high occupancy rates and time needed to clean the room/site, early check ins and late checkouts are simply not available. See your confirmation email for instruction on how to check in.
Common pool soaking is included with lodging during pool hours, 7 AM – 10 PM (7 AM to 11 PM during Daylight Savings) from your check in time (starting at 3 PM) to 10 AM of your checkout day. Pools will be closed from 10 AM – 4 PM for cleaning on Thursdays (almost always Thursday but could possibly be on any day). Soaking before room/RV check in or after room/RV checkout is available at regular rates or see our website for Specials. Private pools are available for rental from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Well behaved, leashed and housebroken dogs (2 maximum) and their responsible owners are welcome. Please call us for full policies and for permission to bring your dog. Dogs will not be allowed to stay in vehicles. All dog owners must pay the dog fee and register the dog at the front desk before being allowed on the property. Cats are not allowed at Riverbend.
Dogs must be leashed at all times while on our property and must be picked up after. Please don’t leave them alone in the rooms unless crate trained and crated. Please don’t let them on our beds or furniture to avoid any additional cleaning or damage charges. Dog are not allowed into most Private Pool enclosures. If you choose to bring your dog to the Common Pool area, they must be leashed with our provided short leashes at the Canine Cabanas and must be quiet while there. Pet owners who can’t or won’t follow these simple policies will be asked to leave without a refund.
Service Animals may be exempt from our size and location restrictions but will be fully vetted per the ADA guidelines to prevent fraud and preserve the integrity of the Service Animal program. Riverbend is non-smoking indoors and outdoors. Vaping and burning candles or incense is also prohibited. Violators are charged a minimum of $250 restoration fee for smoking/vaping or for burning candles/incense indoors. A designated smoking area is provided near the parking lot.
